Well, its official, i'm on a run of bad luck or all my problems are connected. Its probably the latter, but I guess its irrelevant. Today my 2-ish year old Corsair 950TX exploded. Well, not really an explosion, but there was actual FIRE! My computer all of a sudden shut down, kind of quietly actually, no sudden clicks or anything like a typical hard reset. Well I start looking around inside a little bit, hit the power button a few times and I hear a POP followed by a hiss and then see a little light coming from the back of the PC. I didn't actually see fire but it wasn't just a quick flash, and I smelled that tell-tale burning electronics smell. Dangit! I wasn't 100% sure it was the PSU, so disconnected it from everything, and while it was still in the case I shorted the green wire and got a fan hooked up to the PSU to spin. I swapped in the PSU from my folding rig and the PC is fine so I think its clear that the PSU is actually the culprit. Unfortunately, the PSU i'm using right now is only a CX430, very undersized for this rig. I think the 950TX should still be under warranty.. I hope I don't have to wait too long to get a replacement
Corsair is pretty quick on the RMA's. I've done 2 in the last 6 months.

yea, i submitted an RMA request after I posted. My concern is that I can't seem to find the invoice for it anywhere. I could have sworn I bought it on Amazon, but its not showing up in my purchase history. Its also not showing up at newegg either, and the e-mail the invoice probably got sent to was my old college .edu address, which is now defunct. I'm hoping they do the RMA no questions asked, I really don't want to get screwed because I can't find an invoice from over 2 years ago

Updated the baseband version on my GNex. too early to say for certain, but it looks like a major improvement for me in terms of 4G reception. Hopefully the handoffs are also improved. Thats been the major weakness so far that has driven me to have LTE turned off all the time

I commented on a dubstep video on YouTube and now I'm getting all sorts of messages from people on YouTube saying "Hey, look at this dubstep from me! Please check it out blah blah."

I don't really care, just find it interesting that these amateur dubstepists are advertising their dubstep tracks to every person who comments on a YouTube video.

sounds scientific... just like dubstep. it takes a lot of science to be able to record those robot farts.

My parents are moving and want me to clear out some of my crap from their basement. Was over there this weekend and found my old 33.6k PCI dial-up modem.

The box says its "upgradeable to 56k", probably a firmware update or something, but I doubt I ever did that. I remember my dad and I went to the CompUSA to buy this stupid thing so I could play Duke Nukem 3D against my uncle in modem-to-modem games.
