Re: Members and Newbies: Introduce Yourself to The Forums

    Hi,

    I'm 23 from Sacramento, CA.

I used to have an account here when the site was green with envy.

Well, I work in the healthcare field but still love tinkering with computers. I feel at home here with fellow tech enthusiasts (i.e. geeks).

I'm going through some rough patches in life. The depression chat was making me feel more depressed. I thought I can find some comfort here.

Re: Members and Newbies: Introduce Yourself to The Forums

Hello, My name is Wally. I am a 47 yr old trucker in Rochester, NY. Please forgive my naivety as it should be readily apparent I have NO idea what I am doing on these threads. I stumbled in here in hopes of having a question answered for me concerning laptop to hdtv connection. My problem is I have a Dell studio 15 and am watching video on my samsung hdtv through a Phillips 6' HDMI cable. The laptop is set up for Intell (R) clone (Digital TV-Laptop). I get the video on both screens but cannot seem to get the audio to follow. It stays with the laptop. I've tried disconnecting the cable, shutting down and reconnecting cable before re-booting. Sometimes this works and sometimes not. What would be the likely reason for the audio to stays with the computer?
