    Digital Camera question...

    Hey, I'm looking to get a decent digital camera, but I dont know much about them...can anyone suggest a good brand and stuff? Trying to stay under $300...

    The Olympus D550 by far. Only bad thing is the short battery life. Optically, the best thing going. IMHO

    You can come pretty close to that price for a Minolta S404 four megapixel camera. I think the company I work for paid $315 off the internet. The price may have come down a bit. Here's a review of the camera:

    Olympus!!!! I have a C3000 Zoom and my Mom got my Dad a D550 for Christmas. Both good quality cameras.

    Stick with Olympus. They are the highest quality product there is.
    Even if you have to get less features to save money, just buy Olympus anyway.
    ...Does anybody else feel like Congress simply bailed themselves out? Isn't that what they really mean by a bailout?

    I just got a C50 zoom it is 600$ but for a small 5mp its a great camera Olympus makes great lens's!!!

    As for battery life, any digital camera is going to eat up batteries. I suggest that you buy 2 sets of Nickel Metal Hydride batteries and a charger when you get the camera. Always keep a set in the camera and a freshly charged set in the camera bag. I also have 4 alkaline AA's in the bag just for insurance.
