    Nvidia drivers and PCI management

Recently installed a new Promise TX-4 SATA card, did a fresh install of everything, and upgraded to the new Nvidia 2.45 unified drivers. I was a little disappointed to see my Raptor RAID speeds slow considerably in ATTO. Everything else was the same, and my prior card was the TX2-plus SATA card. I decided to try the older 2.03 unitied drivers, and I saw my ATTO speeds increase quite a bit, particularly on a set of WD-800JB's on ports 3-4 in RAID-1.
Can anybody confirm a change in speed between these drivers? They include a newer version of the PCI management driver.

I just noticed a huge drop in RAID 0 perfromance going from my Asus A7N8X DX board with SIL SATA RAID setup to my new board: MSI K7N2 Delta ISLR with the Promise SATA RAID setup. Im using 2 Raptor drives. With my Asus board I DID use Asus's nforce drivers, while with my new board Im using Nvidia's new unified drivers. My SANDRA scores went from the high 60s/low 70s with the Asus board to low 40s with the MSI board. Im going to try MSI's nforce drives-see if that helps

    Hey rdgrimes

How do you like the Promise TX-4? Seems like a good deal for the money.

I'm a little disappointed in the top speed, but then I've got 2 arrays running on it so that may be a factor. The TX2-plus is faster with the same Raptors. I suspect a couple driver updates might help. I also found that turning off the SMART function improved speed quite a bit. Having 4 SATA ports is a no-brainer.
The Promise cache implementation is a huge improvement over the competition.

Well, I disabled my Audigy 2 in the control panel & then tested the raid setup-my scores went back up. Im now going to try different PCI slots for the Audigy-see if that helps
