    Asus V8200 (TI200) deluxe question

Found some of the deluxe cards for $75 around and am wanting to use it in my tv machine.

My question is will it display on a vga monitor and tv at the same time. I looked at the manual on asus's website, but it only mentions it once and I've never been able to get my gainward ti200 card to display on the the tv and svideo at the same time.

    Thanks

I don't think so- that would require dual DACs which I have not seen on a GF3 variant. There are some cheap alternatives in the GF4MX-series that would work. Here's one:

Palit Microsystems DAYTONA Geforce4 MX 440 AGP Model 220641-281A Retail
    NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 VGA
    Specifications:
    Chipset:GeForce4 MX 440
    Memory:64MB DDR
    Bus:AGP 4X/8X
    3D Triangle peak rate: 34Mil
    Fill rate: 1.1Billion (texels/sec)
    4.4GB/sec Bandwidth
    350MHz ( 2 RAMDACs each )
Support DirectDraw, Direct3D, DirectVideo and ActiveX. OpenGL ICD for Win9x/Me/NT/2K/XP
    Ports:VGA + S-Video Out
Retail box (see pictures for details)

    Item: N82E16814260027 Model#: 220641-281A
    Price: $49.00

That is available from Newegg. I don't think the 3D capabilities are going to be at the level of the GF3Ti, however, it is cheap, and has dual RAMDACs...

Thanks, did not think it had dual ramdacs. I'm going to sell my motherboard and get a board with integrated graphics (geforce 4) and a spdif connector geforce 2 chipset. About $100 for this board from newegg. Leadtek K7NCR18GM or Leadtek K7NCR18G-PRO (114), both have svideo and spdif connector, the pro version has soundstorm and the lower cost one only has 6 channel ac97

Sapphire also makes a board with s-video out that uses the ati rt100 (radeon 7000?) chip and is only about $50 (Sapphire A3-M275,ATI A3 chipset mATX motherboard). But you would need a 5.1 audio with spdif to hook to home theater.

I think I will order the leadtek pro model for $114. A few months ago I could not find a mb that had both svideo and spdif output. Looks like a great board for your home entertainment machine.
