    *#%&!^ cdrecord ^%$##$ iso files --- hellllppp!!!!

    I am trying to do a simple thing - burn an iso file to disk. but I'm screwing it up somehow!!! I just end up with a copy of the iso file on the disk

    what am I doing wrong?

    he is what I'm typing in:

    cdrecord -data dev=0,0,0 /home/jay/linux/Programs/gentoo-linux/gentoo-ix86-1.2.iso
    Aspire 520watt power | A7N8X Dlx 2.0 | Athlon XP-M 2500 @ 2.4 | CNPS 7000A-CU | OCZ pc3500 | Radeon 9800pro w/ VGA Silencer | Seagate 7200.7 SATA hdd

    eggs,

    I got the stinkin thing to work! something else about my system was jacked up though, and it wouldn't let me mount the cdrom. I booted into windows and the iso had burned properly.

    You don't mount a cd to burn it (not sure if that is what you were doing).
