Looking for new GPU need help!

I was thinking of going for either the 9800 pro 256mb or the FX 5900 256mb, which do you guys think is the better card, and what company should i get it from, Xtasy, visiontek, PNY??? Or does the company matter? I know there all ATi or Nvidia products but i thought that these splinter companies threw in some of there own special touchs ok fire away

Well both cards are pretty well even as far as performance goes however i think the 9800 pro 256mb is a little cheaper if that even matters to you. If it were me picking id go with ATI since they dont the hand that feeds them. :-)

As far as brand, you pretty much get the same stuff (cables, connectors, etc) only diff is usually games or no games, just shop around on pricewatch.com

Hmm the more i look the more i like the FX 5900, Im looking at this one here http://www.enpc.com/cgi-bin/enpc/ASLM59256U.html
I discovered something interesting, if you choose to go with one maker or another you really need to look at the spec. sheet for that makers card. I found out that the 5900 ultra from albatron only has an engine clock of 410mhz, and another maker, prolink only has a engine clock of 400mhz. The rest of them like asus, BFG, gainward, and eVGA are all at 450mhz engine speeds, now i know that the prices reflect the slower clock speeds but man if you didnt do some research and had just seen the low low price you might buy it thinking you were getting a 450mhz clock and not some crippled engine all for the sake of cheaper prices.
I noticed that here http://www.allstarshop.com/shop/simp...7572&ad=pwatch if you look down the page and click the BGF cards more info button, it says that this card has dual 400mhz RAMDAC, and the other cards dont say that. Is the dual 400mhz just for the BGF cards or should all the cards have dual 400mhz RAMDAC's? Just curious.

My man, go with the Radeon trust me. They have better IQ and better video playback. Until Nvidia gets their sh*t together I wouldn't get any of their cards. Matter of fact even when they do get their sh*t together I still wouldn't get any of their cards.

Well Hell.....now that im looking at some more reviews with benchmarks of the radeon against the FX, seems the radeon is still blowing away the FX. I guess i will go for that 9800 pro 256mb card after all....yo, do those 9800 cards come in any other colors then red? Uck!!

9800 pro 256mb hands down. Its better its cheaper and its cooler (not as in awesome but as in heat wise but it is cooler awesome wise too). look at this review http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_cont...4A186D35AA1AE9
I wouldnt trust nvidia anymore. with all the cheats they had with their new drivers and some of the things theyve been doin... ATI's image quality and AA and AF is also far superior to nvidia's as well.
