    Artic Silver on Ram Sinks?

I took off the HSF from my MSI Ti 4200 and I noticed they used some white crap in contacting the heat sink to the ram sinks and to the GPU.

What would happen if I used something like artic silver instead?

You may get cooler temps. May not do much though, but if anything it will help.

    Hey Inferno83,
I was thinking the same thing. I've got an old Creative geforce 2 Pro with that basic thermal compound. Thinking of replacing it with some coolermaster shin etsu. Can you post back with some results if you do decide to change the compound.

I am still waiting for a responce from someone that actually did it, because I know a friend who put artic silver on his RAM Dimms and fried them out because the Artic Silver is conductivc!

So I am scared to the same and fry my Video Card!

    Hey Inferno83,

    Have you checked this out.http://www.amdforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=250570

Best not to use AS3 and maybe shin etsu. I know the premium coolermaster stuff is non electrically conductive, and i've read in reviews its better than as3.

    Chris.
