lol JM...i actually agree with Fr@g on this...the NF7-S is the best NF2 board out...even better than the 'long in the tooth' 8RDA+

but i will have to admit hte 8RDA+ is one badarse board that can take as much abuse and punishment as you can throw at it!

well...i've seen a hundred zillion threads about adding megawatts and ultravolts to the 8RDA+ lol...some dudes will do anything they possibly can to juice them up =).

haven't seen that many on the NF7-S, though I have seen one at 245FSB, which might not impress you but impresses me lol. Not as much as this guy in the OC forums with the LanParty I875 board...he has Adata PC4000 and running 1:1 @ 260FSB. Creepy.

But I think it might also be that the NF7-S maybe has all the things that the 8RDA+ owners were modding to get....?

They are both class boards, no mistaking that.

I just prefer the Abit over the Epox due to the fact that i was able to reach a much higher stable FSB with it.

I know that my Epox was a 1.1 A3/A3 but it still should have done 200 at least.

The Abit has been up to 220. I'm investigating why my CPU is at 46C Idle before i bump it up to that and go for more.

yeah i did, I didn't see any improvement in temps really.

I'm still trying to figure out why me CPU temps are so damn high. I've tried reseating the SLK and everything

you did all the standard stuff like cleaned the hs and cpu with alchohol, maybe re-lapped a lil bit...put the correct amounts on...

is there a NB cooler/hs near the cpu? is the PSU blowing air down somehow? getting some warm wind from a component? heh...trying to help

whats your temps? which fan are you using on it?

i think thermaltake's heatsinks are quite good, the fan on the volcano 11 that thermaltake provided was slow, had to get another

my cpu idle temps are around 46-47 and 51 load. I'm stumped, i was getting in the mid 30's before.

    I'm using a mechatronics 80mm 53CFM fan.

I've done all the cleaning stuff, do you guys think it would be ok to take them little feet off of the SLK while i lap it a bit?

will that make it sit lower to the cpu?

I wont have any SLK experience until tomorrow or Friday as I am getting my first bolt-on, and my first SLK (900U!) for the P4.

I would assume that if it only allows a small bit of lowering, it might be ok (depending on how tight you screw it down?).

or are you talking just taking them off to lap it lol...grrr...I HATE BEING NOOB ANYTHING!

yeah just taking them off to lap the heatsink. Then i'll stick them back on.

I'm gonna set my board back to default everything tonight. And see what happens. If the temp stays the same (which i hope it will) then i can assume its just a bad mounting on my behalf.
