AMD is really ugly and bearish right now. Way to go AMD for buying ATi and then falling second place to "Intelly's" Conroe!

I retract my positive view on SNDK but would pick up SNDK longterm over AMD. With AMD we still need to see a release of a 4x4 and some new GPUs to compete with NVDA's 8800 DX10 cards.

It's not a significant drop, but AMD is at a 52w low after its little surge/blip this week. The INTC/AMD war is pushing down profits, yet i do suspect large companies will slowly upgrade pc's, and then vista, later this year. More likely though would be in 2008. It's a long wait but for those watching these guys it can be a profitable. i for one would like to make some $$ so i can use the $ to upgrade also!

Ouch... the OEM's aren't buying what AMD thought they would. 1Q forcasts are blown. Just so you know.

...of course, this MAY mean that cpu prices and ATI cards may get an unscheduled price drop 'nStuff.

think I may Trade my Intel stock for AMD again..... since there is more of a "potential" upside.....

AMD is less than $14, and I expect it to drop some more today.....

Here's the question: is the 4x4 going to be on par or better than intel's quad core? I may be a moot point if the demand is tepid at best on the desktop side. I would love to hedge my bets: buy AMD because everyone else is selling, then use the profits to buy a Conroe...or a nice set of lenses/dSLR/camera gear just because I made a ton of money off AMD

AMD warned on sales being 1.23B (market expected 1.5B). Just how many chips does $270M represent?

Stock rose to $13.35 (up 0.50).

i almost bought friday when AMD was under $13............

bottom line, chip stocks (AMD & INTEL) will be flat.... As long as AMD tries to compete directly with better intel products, trouble abounds..... AMD needs to find it's niche, and pray that Barcelona is a good chip!

I think I am waiting for the Bottom on AMD before I buy..... don't think we are there yet! (sorry Hector! )......

But with direct competition, comes lower prices for conumers! You can buy an entry level X2 w/ heatsink for less than $75 delivered!

I hope both companies flourish so we can keep getting bleeding edge w/ low prices!

My call is for a bottom on AMD @ $11ish (at the price not seen since Sep '04). The ATi acquisition is sucking out cash for the company and that's on top of the price-war it has pit itself against Intel.

Ha, I bought at $27 and thought about selling at $40. But decided to wait, and now I just laugh at my stocks. Oh well, I mostly bought the stocks because I believe in the company.
