three of my folders began life with Okai 400 watt supplies, every one of them failed within 6 months. Was lucky that they didn't wipe out anything else!!

    CRAP!

got 5 folding rigs that cannot access the internet!

need to find a replacement 5V 3a power supply for my D-Link Router

I have been googling like crazy...can only find this

    http://www.powersupplydepot.com/prod...oduct=16766+PS

    and this

    http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetail?sku=5370991

that are even close...but they are only 2a

I can get them online temporarily if i use the power adapter off my network switch, and reroute cables around .... it is a dlink switch with a 5V 2.5a power supply

A 2 amp model should suffice until you can find a proper replacement. If you have a radio shack nearby, they should have something you can use.

    Re: Folding Frogs Crap thread!

this will be the second one...last time i scoured the town looking for one.

i thought for sure radio shack would have something, but hey have really gon downhill...at least around here

radio shack does not carry ANYTHING with similar electric properties

they have 4.5V and 7V but nothing 5V....

I called d-link and they sent me somewhere to get a replacement and they wanted almost $50 for a replacement ( the router was only $109 )

i ended up buying one off ebay for $10... ( i looked there too, there are none at this time )

With the newer Mobo's being powered mainly from the 12v rail there would be plenty spare on the 5v rail to power the router, as long as it's fairly close to a Pc that is.
