    Enemy Territory Stability

Since i lost my hard drive, i reinstalled enemy territory. however, it is extremely unstable. it would crash right after i selected my team and "job" - and it was a hard freeze, have to reset button kind of freeze. i uninstalled and redownloaded (thought maybe getright corrupted it or something) and went to play and was able to play for a couple minutes before it froze over again. is this a common issue, because i remember it running just fine before.

I had the exact same problem with both ET and RTCW online after doing a fresh xp install with MB change.

I had also updated to the new 52 series drivers from Nvidia. Went back to the old drivers and everything is fine again.

My friend and I both experienced immediate hard lock ups with RTCW-MP and ET with the 52.xx and 53.xx series of nVidia driver sets in Windows XP. Went back to the 45.23's and both games returned to normal operation. Driver problem or game problem? I intend to report this to both vendors. Have not experienced any problems with any other games in D3D or OGL with the 5x.xx driver sets.

It is not so much a problem with the games but with Punkbuster that they both use. This is why the problem only presents itself in rtcw MP and ET.

Yeah, its punkbuster incombatiabilites with the 52.xx drivers or whatever. Stick with the 45.xx ones. A lot of my friends have had these troubles as well. I hope they address the issue in the next driver set.

Yea, I had the exact same problem. With ET and Q3. I downloaded some older drivers and I disabled PB for single play and it stopped.
