I dont know if it would do you any better...but it is made for a VIA chipset...it might speed up or maybe not...but you could always uninstall it if it were to be slower!

George Breese just posted over Here and mentioned that his latest patch does not support the Kt600 chipset.

HDTach and ATTO probably won't show that much of an improvement. The new raptors have tagged command queing and 1 ms faster seek time. That's where most of the 30 percent improvement comes from.

A little confused. I just loaded the latest promise drivers for my motherboard. Showing 13.7ms Randon Access time, Read speed 90.1max, 25.4min, 53.2 avg, with 200 megabytes per second burst speed. Graph is very jagged. ATTO showed transfer rates of 340,787 read and 383,778 write at 32. read speeds drop sharply after 64 but write speed remains over 300,000. WD 80GB + Maxtor SATA 80GB in Raid 0. 64k stripe. Can the benchs be this high?

Do you have compression enabled on the drive if so disable it right away if this is your System drive.

No, my chart doesn't look like that I just re-ran atto after setting it 32MB length (had it at 4) and "neither" checked on the right side. scores were around 75,000 through most of the tests. I think we have the same drives themortarman. But I'm using the onboard controller.

soundx98 graph will look funky with a 64K stripe...16K will give cleanest graph...and 32K will give you best "overall" with those drives...at least that is what I have come to find out when benching those drives...

i got mine from an online vendor...accupc.com...but i wouldnt recommend buying from them...i got stiffed pretty hard...check out my review for them at reseller ratings...

decided to try my luck with XP. same setup as described before except with XP and SP1. i actually benched higher...ill upload the atto image soon...

after i did the bench...i decided to update the drivers this time to latest 4in1's, latest sata raid drivers, etc...all the scores dropped...but the reads were affected more...tried to roll back the drivers...didnt fix the problem...not sure what happened...
    hmm...
