For the record, the problems I mentioned on the first page of this thread turned out to be related to a bad proc not the Buffalo -MC memory. It works just peachy for me and I am already thinking about buying more of it. I've had mine as high as 210x11 without problem and right now its running at 200x11 at stock voltages.
EVGA 590 SLI, AMD 64 x2 Dual Core AM2 4800 at stock speed, 2x GSkill DDR2 PC2-6400 1Gig 2 Gig total in dual channel, Antec Trio 650, EVGA 8600GT 256Meg, WIndows Vista Home Premium 64bit.
ASUS A8V Deluxe, AMD 64 939 pin 3500 at stock speed, 4x Corsair PC3200 DDR 512 meg for 2 Gig total in dual channel, Antec True 430w, ATI X800XT, Windows XP home.
Great, glad to hear that.

Are these Buffalo chips from Newegg Winbond chips? Would you rate them as good performers with the Abit NF7-S and Barton 2500? I would buy two by the way.
Those modules (DD4002-512) are WinBond CH-5s. I don't know why newegg is leaving off the last section of the part number.
The full part number is DD4002-512/WC
W=Winbond
C=CH-5 (or rev C actually)
I'll post some of the best times I've done with the NF7-S with those modules (not hand picked) and another and let you make the decision. Both trials are with pairs of modules in Dual DDR mode.
DD4002-S256/WC and NF7-S w 3000+ Barton
FSB222x10.5 7-2-3-2 CPU1.65 Vdimm2.6
DD466-512/MC and NF7-S w 3000+ Barton
FSB220x10.5 11-3-2-2.5 CPU1.7 Vdimm2.9
Of course, all motherboards are different and my processor may be different than yours, so you might go higher or lower than my figures.

220 is pretty damn good for dual channel, i'd say![]()

ok, i'm assuming these pc3200 modules have the CH3 chips? the pic shows a winbond logo on the chips but the description doesn't specify which ones it has. customer reviews indicate ch3 as well, but I'm sure the stock could've changed since then. anybody know?
if they are winbond, i'm ordering one tonight![]()

Yes, according to Memoryman's post a couple above this, they are Winbond CH5 chips. I ordered 2 last night. Thanks for the help everyone.

Nope. It has the Bh-5's. ($50)Originally posted by squyd on 12-12-2003 at 12:43 PM
It seems you picked up the single stick I reluctantly canceled. (I need 2 for 512MB)![]()
I don't think it's Bh-5 though (description says only Winbond chip) - Newegg has another PC-3700 for $62.
What sux is that I still have the very same FSB ceiling
that I did with the pc3200 modules.
Not matter how much I relax the timings or increase the voltage
in the BIOS I still can't break 215-218fsb. Any higher and
the BIOS defaults back to 100mhz every single time.
My only option is to try another 'low volt" Tbred B that
I have lying around. If that doesn't do it I may have to
buy the Abit nf7-s.![]()

newegg and Buffalo DD466:
In the last week, I have encountered several emails and calls stating people ordered the Micron DD466, but received Winbond BH-5 - sometimes one of each. We have talked to newegg about this, and it appears they have their DD466 Micron stock, with some Winbond BH-5 mixed in (not much, but a little). They said they've already gone through their stock and separated the two types. Obviously, they haven't completely gone through this stock, because I keep getting calls on it.
newegg shouldn't have any Buffalo BH-5 at this time, according to when we stopped shipping BH-5. I have a feeling that it might keep popping up occasionally in people's orders.
