    Quick question....dual channel ram....

I have looked all over, (maybe not hard enough), but does one need to use specific dual channel sticks of ram to enable the dual channel option? or can one just use regular DDR ram? I see everywhere the 'kits' where you buy them in pairs of two, is that just because its conveinent (sp?) or is it a completely different thing? Any insight would be much appreciated thanks

The best thing is two buy 2 x 256 or 2 x 512 Mb stick of the same memory, they need not be a kit. Just some high quality PC3200 or PC3700 will do you just fine.

If you have an nForce chipset motherboard, suggest Twinmos or Buffalo with Winbond chips.

I just checked out neweggs selection of buffalo memory, but it seemed like most had high latencly chips...cas 2.5 to 3....could you suggest a certain 'model' to look for by either or both brands? Im just looking for 2 sticks of 256. Thanks for the help
