Re: Rolleyes News of The Day

OK, I went down to the school to enroll our son in Kindergarten for next year. I was armed with all of the necessary paperwork, proof of immunization, dental records, etc. I was directed to half a dozen "stations" manned by different county workers... one tried to instruct me on what our son should eat, one tried to instruct me on which county services to use for health care (oops, this guy has private insurance, next station, please), another gave me a speech on head lice and yet another discussed "socializing your child and teaching the proper interaction with others"... blah, blah, blah. And... we now are the proud owners of a beautiful four color poster that diagrams how to properly disembark from a school bus.

The joke? None of these people will be in the Kindergarten class (and except for field trips, he won't be riding the bus).

The teacher wasn't in the mix. Besides, rumor has it she's one of the lucky recipients of a pink slip due to the State of California's budget cuts. My thinking? Sheet can all of the ancillary county workers peddling free this and that to replace parental responsibilities and keep the teachers on staff.

And one more pet peeve. There's apparently some sort of state directive that says every kid needs to eat a certain amount of ounces of cheese every week. So in our son's pre-school they march the kids into the cafeteria for lunch every day and a few times a week they each get a half inch thick slice of cheese. None of the kids eat it. Ours won't touch it 'cause "its too thick and tastes like crap". But the cheese shows up like clockwork... onto the plates and into the trash. Common sense? Whatchootalkin'boutWillis?

The alternative around here is a Catholic school or the "salad" school (Waldorf... great if you're a liberal driving a Volvo).

That's my rant for the day.

    Jumping Jesus.

Make sure and add the standard yellow lab or golden retriever to that Volvo.
As I understand its an option at the dealership. To complete the image.

    Head lice. Yuk.

Man its the same everywhere now.

Cheese. I thought the trend was away from dairy products.
Maybe there are leftovers from the Senior Citizen's monthly "Free Cheese" deals!!

Our son is only 1.5 years old.. and I already dread having to put him into our liberal brainwashing public school system. Our neighbor has a daughter that just moved onto high school.. on speaking with her I can hardly believe the total mindbending crap they are pushing on middle schoolers and younger. Makes me think I'm gonna have to delouse my son on a daily basis once he starts his foray into socialist public edu-me-cation.

    Unhinged

The Left is losing it. Not the election. Just any semblance of sanity. From one Barack Obama fan we learn, “This is an election about whether the people of Pennsylvania hate blacks more than they hate women.” And these are Democrats, mind you. As for John McCain, the same blogger frets about those white male voters:

[T]he outcome of the general election will depend on whether enough of them vote for McCain. A lot of them will: white men cannot be relied on, as all of us know who have spent a lifetime dating them. And McCain is a compelling candidate, particularly because of the Torture Thing. As for the Democratic hope that McCain’s temper will be a problem, don’t bet on it. A lot of white men have terrible tempers, and what’s more, they think it’s normal.
Then we have a list of 40 journalists who signed a vitriolic letter to ABC complaining about the debate moderators. (It is nice actually to have a list of putative journos who no longer have any claim to objectivity and whose views can be comfortably discounted as spin from the Obama camp.) And to cap it off we have the latest frothing from Michael Moore.

Why all the anger and hostility in support of the post-partisan, post-nasty Agent of Change? Perhaps these supporters assumed Obama would knock out Clinton in Pennsylvania, a result which seems unlikely now. Or perhaps they are worried about all those voters who say they won’t vote for Obama in the general election. Whatever the reason, they seem very, very mad.

^^^ Hey, Democrats aren't racist, misogynistic, age discriminating, anti-religious bass turds... they just classify things that way and compartmentalize their prospective voters that way.

    You must prove causation, however.
Promote then, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge. In proportion as the structure of a government gives force to public opinion, it is essential that public opinion should be enlightened.

AS pointed out in that article:

The next question to ask would be whether citizens have taken jobs that illegals used to do. Though the lower unemployment rate doesn't in and of itself prove that, it does point strongly in that direction.
As also pointed out in the article:

Will anyone in Old Media dig more deeply into the Sooner State's situation? Or will they try to pretend that Oklahoma's improvement doesn't exist, because finding out why might expose some inconvenient truths, and hurt the cause of illegal-immigrant "amnesty"?
It's gonna be hard to prove if no one in the media is interested in doing the research. If they do not report it.. it never happened.. right?

You mean like the Man Made Global Warming THEORISTS always do? Is that the bar? Sheet, we've got an international multi-billion dollar spendathon going on, to solve a problem without any proven causation and I have yet to hear you rail against the lack of proven causation. I have heard you peep about the few millions spent by oil companies.

    Give me an f'n break.

You don't cotton to the supply side argument of drilling ANWR or the sea beds and there's plenty of proof that those would cause an increase in the stability of our nation's oil supply... so WTF?

I think you insist on proving causation selectively.

I do too, BTW. So don't take this post as a personal insult.
