I hear ya, a good contractor would've ensured the subfloor didn't get rained on. And once it did, replace it. They never should have settled with him unless he was to replace the subfloor.

These actions always turn into a war between the DOD and the various representatives. On one hand they are all for tightening the DOD budget....well...as long as someone else gives up the money....and the economic impact is somewhere else.
Seems odd for some Democrats to be saying..".stay...we like the military"...as long as they never fight.

That's quite a list. Only Colorado, North Dakota, and Vermont were left off. And, there were 114 reserve centers on the list. It seems it's impossible to field an army without the reserve and now they want to make it more difficult for people to put in their reserve time? Yeah. Big list...and I was just being a wiseguy...about the impact on various cities etc. But we cant ignore what the DOD wants to do...as they must have a plan to consolidate operations...and make things more centralized. I know for fact what the Base closing at Groton, CT will do to that region...take away the Sub Base and really all thats left is the casinos...that fortunately are doing just fine. Electric Boat will no doubt have to carve some employees as well. Probably about 10,000 jobs between the base and EB.

^^Over a one paragraph article...Ive yet to see any real substiantion on...beyond "allegations". Where is the solid evidence? Or is this another Hersch "rachet up the volume" deal?

American Newsmedia seem to forget that the only place in the World where you can lie about our Government's actions with impunity is... Here in America! Everywhere else, people still believe what is written in newspapers, and act on the information given.

All of this violence, all of this death... it is all over a throwaway accusation quoted by an un-named source!! With all of these talented journalists being fired for making quotes up out of whole cloth, we've learned to ignore some of the more outrageous accusations until we see either proof or a name of somebody willing to stand up and make the accusation in public...

I hope that Newsweek author is sure of his source... because if he's lying, he's got blood on his hands, and a real cause for a charge of treason hanging over his head.

IMO the blood is on his hands whether the story is true or not.

If it's true, the blood is also on the hands of those who did such a thing. Here, let's give people cause to hate us on a silver platter. But I fail to see the justification for announcing it to the world even if it is true.

If it's not true? The reporter AND Newsweek should be held accountable.
