Well preserved WW2 fighter plane found in Egyptian deset:

Pretty amazing. Sadly, although the pilot survived the crash, he probably died of thirst and his body is still out there somewhere.

Article is partly correct and the title is pretty gentle

I think the differences are far more basic.
On one hand we have Romney who is about as close to a free market capitalist as weve seen in recent years.
On the other side we have Obama who's policies are often at odds with capitalism and contrary to the notion of limited government.
Rather that say the "S" word...which is socialism we have settled as a political convenience on Keynesian Economics. Paul Krigman and his followers seem to hide the political agenda behind a softer ambition called "economic policy" that adheres to what Keynes had to say years back.
Lets recall. Keynes was basically what we call a Fabian Socialist.
What he has written was not necessaritly a prescription to free market capitalism issues but rather observations of how central government best manipulates economic activity. Its a perception difference that has amplified appeal during times of economic distress.
Free market capitalists basically believe GDP/Employment etc are a function or an aggregate function of a free market and free consumers.
The other side seems to feel GDP/employment etc are actually a function of government actions. In other words GDP is always a function of Government.

Carrol Shelby, one of the good guys, dead at 89. He had a good life. No, he had an awesome life.
He'll live on in his awesome cars.![]()
^^^ Guy was a living legend. I kinda cringed in his later years seeing all the newer cars with his name plastered on it... they really don't hold a candle to the history that name invokes for me personally. Happy trails Carrol!

Wow. That's an incredible story! The thing that amazes me the most is that on a planet so full of people, it's hard to believe something this large can be lost for 70 years and no one would have found it. Of course the fact that it crashed in the desert is the reason it's so well preserved and was even found at all. If it had been in a more humid area or a forested one, it would have rotted away or been taken over by plant growth. The crash of Amelia Earhart is a good example of that.
^^^ He was puttin' that sticker on a lot of not so special stuff.
But I'd like to play with this for awhile...
600+ horsepower from the all aluminum Ford 427 side oiler. I would love to put the hammer down in one of those monsters.....and I guarantee I'd do it.

That's the whole point! Grab 2nd going about 45 and hammer it, bang third and smoke em up real good up way past 100..... There are lots of cars that can do that. But, the light Cobra and the side pipes and 427 - that's doing in in style as it was meant to be done......
Light the sumb!thch up and get it sideways and stay in it - that's what I'm talking about - Grandstanding Horsepower Exibition with plenty of tire smoke and monster acceleration, plus huge rumble.... I'm smiling right now just thinking about it.Show some Turbocharged Ricers what real performance is all about.
I ain't bangin on Ricers here - cuz I got one.

Yeah, between the untouched oil shale and natural gas reserves, Colorado could be a very rich state. My guess is even with all that money, our roads would still be of Pakistani quality.![]()
