    AX1900DMT3C Speed

I have a Gigabyte GA-7ZXE motherboard that ran an Athlon 1ghz quite happily. I today purchased the AX1900DMT3C (1900+XP) which Gigabyte say is o.k. for the motherboard and bios version that I have. However, all the charts that I have seen state that this CPU is rated at 1.6ghz but my P.C. is stating that it is only running at 1.2ghz!! I don't know anything about tweaking CPU's and I wouldn't know about changing clock speeds, or even if thats possible with my set-up.
My motherboard will only take the 18mu CPU over 1600, thats why the specific part number.
    Hope someone can help,
    Regards,
    Pete.

ok, i think maybe the FSB is set incorrectly, go into the bios by F8( usually that does it, if not just see what the boot up screen says to go into the menu, then find something about the processor and set the FSB to 133 and the multiplier to 12...if u cannot figure this out check your motherboard for any jumpers to set your FSB from 100(what it is now) to 133( what it should be) contact me on AIM or email me if u dont understand!!! good luck!!

Hey Mr Boardsportsrule, you nailed it, it was the FSB Jumper, the pins were reversed 3-2-1 instead of 1-2-3, so I thought it was already on 133 and not 100.
Thank you so much for your swift response. The PC is now running nicely at 1.6ghz.
    Thanks again,
    Pete.
