Those are static images that represent the protein your rig's folding.

One could say that a protein folding is like a child growing up. If he grows up nice, clean and proper (folds), Great!. If he's a foul mouthed hoodlum (sp?) mis-fold. Hmmmm

We help Stanford by supplying the computer power to simulate how a given example of a protein would develop in a given environment.

This is all in an effort to better understand how it all works with the hope of finding cures to disease, if not prevention.

Yup, you can run the same username and team ID on as many machines as you like.

The Team statistics are usually brought current every three hours. That of course after you've turned in the completed WU (Work Unit).

Yes, deffiniately put your "username", if you don't you won't get the points!!

You will be on the Stats, if thats what you mean, a hour or two after completing your first WU.

    Welcome to the team.

When your computer finish's the work unit. It will automaticly send it in and download another one for you to work on. A couple hours after you send it in(Stanford only updates every 3 hours) it will show up as a completed work unit.

The p638 in the picture is a 400 frame tinker "work unit". after it completes all 400 frames it will upload the completed work and download a new work unit. Then the next update on stanfords stats server you should show 1 wu and 70.9 points for that one
I think the stats server updates hourly. not sure though

On that Work Unit , they would be referred to as frames , ie you are working on a 400 frame W/U . there are ones which have up to 25,000 "steps" as well . but each time you download , you are downloading 1 (one) Work unit . You can view the time limits and values of the various Work Units here.
