Oh man..I just got a laptop to repair because it was running SOO
slow and has corrupted files in it. Guess what the anti-virus program
was.... You got it. CA Security Center.

Thanks for the heads up on CA.

No problem; I was a paying customer of CA for years till about 2006.

Never had such a serious problem with them ...
Now I just use a free AV solution

    BKDR_TDSS.AZE infested my son's Dell e1505.
We (the family) uses the free Comcast AV by McAfee. It's junk. I know.....

I've spend my last hour upon hour trying to fix the problem with HD insitu. Now I simply pull out the SATA drive, insert it into my external USB HD SATA case, connect it to my Corporate Laptop (T60) which has Enterprise powerful Trend Micro. Run Scan on that drive only and 40 minutes later it's all clean and ready to go. Schweet!
