With Win64 looking to be delayed due to Microsofts close ties with Intel, is it worthwhile to go with the first 64bit platform? How is linux for gaming, mp3 encoding, dvd burning etc? Anyone have this OS currently? Thanks.

I have suse for amd64 installed on my system alongside winxp. It's nice to play with a 64bit os. However, some major drawbacks so far: Common games ported to linux (ie Quake3, UT2k3, etc) don't have 64bit ports yet, so they won't run under linux. Unless someone knows something I don't.I've tried running their respective installs and they don't complete because they don't support x86_64. video encoding and such will likely work well, however, as with the gaming situation, someone has to port a 64bit program for encoding. Any 64bit os is too early to really say whether it's really taking advantage yet, but at least the Linux distros have jumped out there first. They are all filled with 64bit versions of the software that typically comes with the distro but most of that won't be of much use to someone who wants to game with the popular games out there and for video/audio encoding.
are you dual booting 64bit linux with windows at all? if so any problems? let me know please!

I've setup dual boots with windows and linux for a long time in various configurations. This time I have partitioned my 120GB hd into 10gig for windows xp, 10gig for xp 64bit, 80gig programs, and ~15gig linux. First time I have done it with a single drive. Every other time I have done it with multiple drives. But, like I said, I have no problems as of yet. As a matter of fact, if you have a GeforceFX video card the latest 64 bit linux drivers appear to be rock solid. I can't speak for everyone of course, but on my linux install they have given me no problems as of yet. Last version constantly caused problems.
