    CPU question

I"m buying a new Asus A7N8X Motherboard and need to pick out a cpu for it. I ordered 2 sticks of Crucial 256 DDR3200 memory and now I need to pick out a CPU. I'm not sure if I should get the AMD Athlon XP 2500+ "Barton or the 2800 version. It's a 54.00 Dollar differance so I'm wondering is the 2800 really worth the extra bucks?

    Thank's all for helping out

I would say the 2500+ and o/c it to 3200+ speeds, should be done reletivaly easy, just up the fsb to 200 and up the vcore a tiny bit

Thank's for the help. I've never overclocked anything before so I'm not sure if I could do this or not. Is it very complicated or is it just a few settings in the BIOs? I here that the CPUS are now locked I'm not sure what that means but the way I understand that is it's not able to be overclocked. Sorry for these questions I've been reading all night about this Motherboard and what to get for it.

When people say the processors are locked they mean the multiplier, you dont have to change the multiplier to overclock them, just up the fsb in the bios, which is easy to do
