Dont know if anyone has mentioned it but overclockers.co.uk DONT have mobile Athlon or at least those they have there work at 1.65 and NOT at 1.45.. according to some info i red in a greek forum it seems that they had ordered 500 of those CPUs and they are trying to find a way to get rid of them :-( i sent them an email asking them to tell me at least they steppings of those CPUs and they just replied me that "Sorry we cannot guarantee the steppings of any processor"

Does the Athlon XP offered by NEWEGG the 1.25 Voltage ones overclock as well as the ones mentioned here. I am looking on buying one but what is the difference between the Mobile and the non. Right now I have AThlonXP 2500+ at 2.25 Ghz on air (Ax7 with sunon 50cfm) on NF7-s
Will the mobiles run on NF7-s or Do I need to mod it?

Ok this is the newegg one...so will it work as well as the ones mentioned here? This one is 1.25 V and not 1.4

Thats a typo. The mobile XP2400+, 2500+ and 2600+ all run at 1.45v.

Are the mobile 2600+ also bartons? What would you recommend for OC the 2600+ or the 2500+? What is the benefit of the L12 trick? When I up the FSB to 200 Mhz does that also ups the BUS between the FSB and the CPU or is that locked?

Yes the Mobile 2600+'s are Bartons....though there MAY be some tBred versions out there...I am not 100% sure....the ones at NEWEGG.COM are Bartons. Most people seem to be getting similar performance from the 2400s, 2500s and 2600s so you may want to go with the cheapest of the bunch (the 2400s).

The L12 mod changes the FSB from 133mhz default to 166mhz default. For some reason, some people are able to overclock certain motherboards (Abit NF7 is one) higher once this mod is performed. I am considering doing this mod on my K7N2 Delta-L to see what happens.

Your last question is confusing. FSB stands for FRONT SIDE BUS...it IS the bus between the CPU and the memory. So if you overclock the FSB to 200mhz, then the bus between the CPU and memory is running at 200mhz. The AGP and PCI busses are both LOCKED on nForce2 motherboards so you have no deviders to worry about.

BTW: Yes the Mobile barton will work with your motherboard. You should be able to obtain similar speeds you are running now with only 1.6-1.65v. I am currently running at 212x11 for 2332mhz at 1.675v. I can run at 2400mhz (200x12) at 1.75v... Anything after 2400mhz I max my voltage at 1.8v and it's still unstable. If I could get 1.9v or 2.0v I am sure I could get to 2500mhz no problem. But...alas...I can't. I also notice that my 10x and 10.5x multipliers are unstable as hell, no matter the FSB....strange?

I chose to run at 2332mhz because of the extra 12mhz FSB (212mhz)....and because it runs cooler with 1.675v compared to 1.75v to get the 2400mhz....

Where did he say he ran at 2.25V? That is damn crazy even with extreme below zero cooling.

I must correct my statement: After re-reading what I thought I had re-read...it states 2.25 ghz NOT 2.25v..... SORRY for the mistake...I have since edited the response...

So were there any failures? especialy for those who run it at 1.9+ Volts? I mean what is the mean lifetime for this chip since it's designed at 1.45 and some people are running it at 40% over the ratings...thus were there any burnouts.?
    Thanks
