Goodnight sweetheart, well, it's time to go...

    ... anyone remember that song?

Anyway, I thought I would pop in here and let you guys all know a few things that have been going on...

As many of you probably noticed, I asked that my name be taken off the mod list for SETI a couple of weeks ago. I didn't say anything in a new thread at the time because I was pending a bigger decision.

For those of you who haven't been around too long, about 2 years ago, Old Frog asked that I mod the SETI forum. This was about 6 months after joining the team (and some rather embarassing posts - no links please). For his asking, I am forever grateful. Over the past two years, I have had an absolute blast with you guys. You are like my second family - you froggies, and the other staff members here.

I have submitted my resignation from the site as a Staff member as of this evening. There are many reasons for this, several which I do not want to put in a public forum, but I can tell you that will never forget my time here - both as a mod, and as a team member. From helping new people, to setting up the team site, to receiving help when I needed it, the SETI forum has been my place to turn, 24/7/365.

It's possible that some time off from the site will make me want to come back, but I don't think that will happen.

I wish you all, the very best of luck and prosperity in the future. This team always has been - and always will be - the best.

    Crunch On!

    Fidel Out.

    Well Dave....
Although I do not know the exact reasons for you leaving I do understand. I too went through a similar decision last year after being with a group of people for a considerable amount of time on another site for this game I use to play. I do hope things work out for you and that you come back if you feel like it will work. If not good luck in everything you do!

    Nice knowing you...

What is it about being a mod here at amdmb that makes people leave the site? It just seems that the majority of the mods that have resigned/stepped-down have left the site altogether. What is it that drives them away? I can understand getting tired of being a mod, fed up, burned out, or no longer having the time to devote to your duties. But what makes these people leave the site altogether? It just seems that if, for the above mentioned reasons, you no longer want to be a mod that youíd still want to stay around. It makes me wonder if some of the things that past mods have said before departing were true. I donít hang out at any other site/forum, so maybe this phenomenon is normal. Anybody have thoughts or insight? Am I the only one thatís noticed this?

I used to think that it would be sort of cool to be a mod. Now I'm not so sure...

Sorry that I didn't get to know you Dave, but that won't stop me from saying...

If you leave, I am going to change to Intel and stop using SETI!

Ok, maybe that was a bit to drastic, but I hate it when people have to leave what they love. Especially when I just joined the group!

    Why oh why!?!?

    Love ya Dave!

i can only tell you dave has his own personal reasons, and as far as i know, holds no resentment towards anybody at amdmb.com, except for the occasional arse who broke the site rules.....

but i personally, from watchin many who have come and gone, that in seti, just like in life, there is evolution.....

it doesnt mean that you cant look back, it just means you have new priorities.....

maybe i am just wishing, but i wouldnt be surprised to see more of dave......... eventually.......

bottom-line....... there is no conspiracy that i know of.......

i am sure i will move on someday....... just not today...
