    Hello
i had the soundblaster live x-gamer on an an35n-400 and also on the an35n-ultra the card worked fine. aslong as you ues the default windows drivers and not the ones from creative unless they are new did you try and download the new drivers sometimes this helps on another note also i got rid of the card because it is a resource hog--it steals irq's away from other devices and does cause problems at times. good luck hoe this helps.

I have a SB Live and a Mad Dog 5.1 sound card and I am using the Mad Dog one because I like the sound from it better and my system performs better with the Mad Dog, seems strange but it does. The Mad Dog cards are very affordable also they even have a 7.1 model.

Running a Aopen Cmedia 8738 cobra here in Shuttle AN35N with no problems. Using slot 3, and the above poster is right about 8738 based PCI cards (like the mad dog version or any other) they do go much louder than onboard AC97 and sound better. If you had another sound card you might want to clear drivers out totally, the reinstall direct x, then try reloading the creative card. try slot 3. I also have a creative card (Audigy 2 ZS) in a Biostar M7NCDP with no problems slot 3.

I have the AN35n Ultra with a Soundblaster Live Platinum. No problems. Make sure you have disabled the onboard sound in the BIOS and make sure that you are using all the latest drivers and do not use the Nvidia IDE driver! When the Nvidia Chipset drivers are installing, it will give you the option to use the windows IDE drivers or the Nvidia. Use the Windows. There are numerous reports of conflicts with PCI soundcards and the nvidia IDE driver.

If you still have problems, let us know. Also, describe the exact problem with the BSOD, ie: the stop message, when it happens, etc.
