Try running the game in opengl!

-For NVIDIA Users of GeForce Cards up to GeForce 4 whose framerate feed choppy or slow, edit the file system.cfg and change the line r_Driver = “Direct3D9” to r_Driver = “OpenGL” to try the unsupported OpenGL Version. This may run faster in specific cases.

Know some people who finished the game with opengl and Ti4400.

Well, after playing the game for awhile, here are my initial thoughts.

Graphics are good, but honestly, still nothing to be OMG about. I think the physics are good, but I still think Max Payne had better use of the Ragdoll system.

Enemy AI is good, and keeps you on your feet; the coming from behind is a nice tough, and use a gernades, etc are a nice tough...throwing them through a window at me was really cool!

Sneaking around is too difficult...i guess they have super bionoculars too, cuz if you get within like 50m, they will just "hear" you, and then you have to give you position away by shooting both guys in the head.

Sounds are good, nice and realistic...

Overall, though, I'm kinda disappointed with the game, I think it could have been done much better.

Nothing in the SP to really keep you playing, aside from just wanting to complete the game...nothing break-through, even the AI isn't that great, and RTCW was just as good.

Yea - at least on the level I[m playing the ai is only so so - the added touch I like is hearing what the ai decides to do (aka hearing them talk with the binos). I'm mixed with graphics - if I go high all - then i get dizzy from teh slow frame rate - so I have to back some things back to medium (i have a xp 24 running at 2 ghz and 9800 pro - usual setup).

There seems to be some lag sometime sbetween movement/clicking and actions being carried out - i think this is a config thing i can change but haven't ttaken time to figure out what/where. For mp i think this game will be more fun than enemy territory.

Oh one other thingy I still have trouble driving - dang trees always get int he way - wonder if it is easier iwth a controller - or maybe i should remmap accl/decel so it is easier ot use them at same time as turning.

I'm not that far along yet - I just found my first mutant

Why don't you download the one of the two demos and see how it runs?

    man this game is great.
It runs very smooth on my p4 2.4@2.7 w/ Geforce3 ti200 oC'd@224/450...The gig of ddr 2100 i have is the only thing that makes it run smooth on my system with the old video card....if i take a couple sticks out and go down to 512 it's a lil choppy. If I run it with 1 256mb stick it's almost to choppy to play....but 1gig = no choppy awesome game......can't get enough and playing on the hardest level is kickin my ars!

    Cheats......please, use your skills/brains.

rustyf50, you don't need to kill everything. Use your run key judicously and regain stamina when you are clear, then move again. I got past the first part of this level in 3 tries.
