IBM because I've had experience with them. I love how durable they are. I don't really look for performance in a laptop. Its a laptop; I believe you are not supposed to do any intense gaming with them.

IBM also is cool looking in black (the nice business executive look). It also has a very solid, well built feel.

If you're going to get an IBM, get a T or X series.

Also there is nothing wrong about Sagers. In fact I have heard many good things about them. Go for either one and be happy.

Just my 2c on IBM laptops.
I really should start posting again... and stop lurking...

It really depends on what you are going to use the laptop for. If for business use - meaning you will be doing lots of traveling, I would opt for the IBM.

If this is more of a home laptop - meaning not much traveling and no need for ultra portability, then I would opt for the sager.

But think about what you need, what kind of components are you looking for? What kind of portability? Also take a serious look at warranties.

recieved my sager 5680 supra today from powernotebooks and could not be happier. Sager has nice warranty as well. An ibm is probably plenty enough to suit 95% of people, but for the enthusiast sager is the way to go...

From what I've heard, you can't beat powernotebook.com's support. Very personal and prompt.
