    2.4GHZ and still rising!

Well I thought my CPU was a dead loss when I couldnt get it over 2.2ghz, but I think it was good cooling that was holding me back. At the time I was doing 53C full load after an hours prime torture test, that was with my Aero 7+. So I lapped an old Volcano 7+ I had lying around to 2k, and now my temps are 45C after 4 hours of torture testing, And this is at 1.875v and 2.4ghz, gonna push for 2.5ghz later!

(and I thought I got a duff applebred...)

p.s. courier couldnt find my house on thursday so now I have to wait till Tuesday for mobile 2500+

pop it at 1.9v..bracket some fans above...open de windows :P
    gud o/cing!

the simple fac tis that air cooling can't cope with sudden temp changes...what if your CPU is idle and running 40....if you start playing a game it will shoot up to 50 within seconds without you knowing it...
    that's IMHO
i had my 1800+ JIUHB a 2V and i was scared how temps fluctated so quickly...

Well, at least if I •••• it I will have a mobile Athlon XP to fall back on , I wont push it too hard till the mobile comes, then I will aim for 2.6ghz and have a benchmark war between the two!

Was begining to doubt my temp sensor, so I turned off the pc and put my hand on the hsf, it was so cool, hardly warm to the touch, even so I think I will buy a drive bay mounted temp reader to get better temp readouts (with sensors on cables).
    This is still cool

Well i gave it an eleven hour prime 95 overnight, hanfled it well, (at 2.4ghz and 1.975v) so I have now settled on 2.5ghz at 2.025v, played farcry for 2 hours and the temp was constant at 42-43C

I lapped my Aero 7+ to 2.5k, (my Gigabyte board gives higher temps) it gives me 43 idle and 46 load at 11x200 with 1.7v.

Before lapping it: 1.92v gave 60-63 under load.
