Support for more cards. The only ones I remember off the top of my head are the ATI XT cards, since that's what I'm getting it for.

im such a noob, but how do you get the fan and heatsink off of th 9600XT? i know it has the little tab dealys on it, but i dont want to ruin my card, so im a little tentative about just like prying them out or anything like that..

If you read the reviews on newegg for the VGA silencer, one review states that it's pretty much a gamble for which revision you get.

ur supposed to squeeze and pop out de pins,on the back end of de card.some have very little tim between hs and gpu,so applying some as5 while u at it tis a good idea.
ive seen reviews where dey took out the stock fan adropped a hi perf. one, cooling improving 2 fold or so.

add a couple 120mm fans overhead to drop temps by 10+ celsiusD.S.C-12(2)-disclaimer : whatever u do with your hardware/software is your

Uhh, I don't believe the Rev3 is compatible with 9800XT cards... IIRC, they are releasing an XT version specifically for 9800XT cards. The Rev3 got rid of the dual slot bracket, therefore you no longer have to remove the stock bracket. It is also now compatible with the 9600 series, including the XT in this case.

How much as5 should I apply to core when reapplying the heatsink if I'm just taking off the stock hs and putting it back on?

The core is a similar size and shape to a cpu die so the same grain of rice size, just remeber this stuffs conductive and there are all sorts of stuff you dont want to short circuit there.
