    Dual pci express vid cards

Alienware made an announcement that claims major performance improvements using dual vid card technology. Has anyone come across some hard facts or reviews on this?

Not quite as prominently mentioned on the ambmb front page. Guess I'll need to check both.

Its exciting what PCI Express will offer. I want video cards to be hooked up like SLI. Dual PCI Express. What it will do is potentially boost fill rates to double the amount. The implementation of it and the effectiveness in games is up to the industry. Persoanlly I think PCI Express has a bright future with dual video cards, especially for gaming? Why? Because its interesting. Everyone wants to relive the glory days of 3dfx. If you ignored it, it would be foolish.

Umm, two good video cards will be very expensive and no point in useing two slower ones becasue a single fast one would be better. Also CPUs have along way to go before they will be able to keep up with the newest video cards released.

I think multiple PCI-E video cards would be more sueful for CAD and such than gaming. 4 monitors would be nice.

That will change once the next crop of games are out...ie: Doom3 and HL2...

Although I hate how expensive such a setup will be...I am absolutely dying to see how this thing runs with Doom3...The numbers I am told to expect are enough to give me a heart attack...

certainly, if socket 775 for intel is a bust, the athlon 64 is in the drivers seat IMO
