    Question File server help...

Hey, im getting ready to go to college and am setting up a local file server for my father at home and for access at my college.

I need some advice on which computer to leave for him.... Options are:
    - Athlon 1800+ @ 2.23GHz, 1GB HyperX DDR, Ti4200, Asus A7V8X-X, 2x80GB WD SE.... This was my 3rd build a while ago, still a great gaming rig, use it for 2nd puter at lans and extra when my beast goes down....

    - 1GHz AMD Classic Slot A, 512MB SDRAM, ATI 9200, Asus K7M, same HDD's.... First build, solid 24/7 runner, still fly's....

-> This is just for serving files, no web pages, local and remote FTP only...

Sorry, this sounds kind of lame but just not sure if the 1GHz is gonna cut it.... Thanks for the input!

The 1 gig rig will work just fine.

i concur, an old K6-3 would be fine so long as you have a good speed for your internet connection.
