    Re: Abit NF7 Modded Bios's

Just want to say thanks to TicTac and to Logan for his website that still has lots of great information, and all the TicTac modded bios. Also, to all the NF7-S v2.0 owners who contributed. Why?

Well, I got the courage today to try a TicTac bios after doing the L12 mod from the back of socket pins on the motherboard: soldered the connection. All I could tell that it did [doing the L12 mod] was optimized defualts would set the FSB to 166. It [L12 mod] didn't do anything for overclocking whatsoever. Absolutely nothing, and believe me, I tried. I guess it was because my chip already does 220FSB+, and it is a mobile AXP, 2400+ 35W, which is 133FSB(266) defualt.

So, I downloaded several modded bios from Logan's website, and I just happened to try the last Tictac bios, engineering sample 3. All I can say is "Wow". Damn, it POSTed at 255FSB, but it's not stable much beyond 236FSB. Still, 236FSB 100% stable. That is damn nice, IMO. Thanks again. Especially for full overclocking on all multipliers.
...Does anybody else feel like Congress simply bailed themselves out? Isn't that what they really mean by a bailout?

Does anyone know where I can still find these modded bioses? All the links on the first page are dead. Thanks in advance!

I knew I should have downloaded all of these back in the days.

Are we just out of luck?

Are you guys looking for a specific BIOS version or do you just want them all?

Tell me your e-mail in a PM and i can e-mail them to you. I should have all of them listed on the first page and more.

Thumbs up Re: Abit NF7 Modded Bios's

Here you can still grab some of them

If you are interested, I could hang them from my ftp site on weekend, so you all can get all of them I've downloaded. I'll try to mod the last from tictac with the latest sata raid bios, but if someone has it yet, please send me a pm.

    Re: Abit NF7 Modded Bios's

hello, i learned about this bios. i'm still relatively new but i've been using nf7-s rev2 motherboard since fall '05. are those bios unharmful? because i am still in college and i would be stuck without a computer if this gets my motherboard corrupted.

is there anyway to have an easy start?

    thanks!

    Hi, jEwno

If you really need your computer, be careful! You know this could harm your board, and I would create a bootdisk with your original BIOS file, so if there are problems, you can boot and flash back your board...
I think you can try some of them safely, since I've got them working ok since day 1. I recommend you the TicTac's D26 MantaRaysXT. Many people has tried it and it has worked for me too. There's also a new revision of the D26 MantaRaysXT motherboard BIOS with newer SATA 42.50, but I don't remember where did I get it. If your interested, PM me and I'll send you some of the BIOS that have worked for me.

If you'd like higher FSB's, get the CPC OFF version, but I prefer the CPC ON (wich still gives me 225 FSB on two of the three NF7-S v2.0's I've got here ;-)
I have to tell you also that the BIOS modded with the last SATA BIOS that 311Sam reports, doesn't work for me. I can't boot with it.

Get yourself the Flashmenu and make a backup... Remember not flashing on overclocked parameters, do it at default speeds. Then flash new BIOS and shutdown the computer. Disconnect the power and clear cmos (switch the jumper and wait some minutes before taking it back to normal position). Then startup the computer and load defaults. After that, change BIOS settings as you like.

Hope have helped you a little bit.

    Re: Abit NF7 Modded Bios's

I personally wouldn't flash to D22, but I've not even tried to do it. I'd flash to D26 MantaraysXT for high bus or TicTacs's , Merlin's or Trats's D27 for tight memory timmings.

    Re: Abit NF7 Modded Bios's

    Hello!

Does anyone have a Merlin Taipan 0.3 ed D27 bios with the updated SATA bios '4279?

I have a few TicTac 4279 upgraded bioses (bioses...is that a word? What is the plural of bios???) but the Taipan D27 CPC off bios is absolutely golden for me. I'm running on Vista now, and would like to have the '4279 bios to match the Sil3112 build 1.0.57.0 Vista driver I'm using. I'm too squeemish to try the grafting myself...

    Many thanks!

    Re: Abit NF7 Modded Bios's

Incoming *noob* question, but having only ever flashed BIOS once from floppy, and using windows app to do so since (official BIOS updates)..

I was given an ABIT NF7-2 V2.0 replacement by a friend, but it has a =Merlin= modification to it - I have no idea what that does, but i'm using different memory/cpu to what he had in it which i'm guessing he'd optimised the BIOS for.

I'd like to know how to restore BIOS since I didn't have the original to back up.. do I need to DL via floppy? Just that when I use award flash/windows thing it says it's already on the correct version so doesn't modify it.
