Question to Windows users

Why oh why does every Windows version (except 2000) doesn't wake up from sleep mode 5 times on 8???
Do Power Management has to be enabled in bios? I leave it disabled as it can cause some serious instability with Windows (not applicable to Linux).

I'm sure I'm not the only one...

standby, yech, only meant for laptops!
the only things i have on my rig is a screen saver after 5 min, and the monitor turning off after 15 min. thats it. no hard drive spin down, no suspend, etcetera...
i wish i could fully disable the standby feature, like it showing up in the shutdown menu

my keyboard also has a quickaccess key for standby, wish i could reprogram that.
btw, even win2k has trouble getting out of standby.

umm, i run windows xp/2k currently; but your help is apprecaited.
xp kinda does what i want it to though, i can hit the suspend button on my keyboard and have it bring up the shutdown menu, very cool. but the suspend feature still looms, cant win 'em all can ya!?
