Now, I know we have an Unoffical IRC channel on EFnet, but I have always wished that there was a place where I could connect to, no matter whos's computer I was at. (Cant download IRC at school most of the time.) Also, I havnt had the best luck connecting to EFNet, but thats besides the point.
The forums are a great place for myself, and others to get their questions answered, but sometimes I just need to ask one small thing, or often times just share something with other people, that just seems silly to make a thread, in a forum that might take a day or two to get answered sometimes, or that could just simply be answered with one or two replies.
Now, I dont know the logistics that would take to integrate an IE or similarly based chat client into the forums, that we could connect to, and thus connect to the chat room, but I know that other forums i have been on have done similar things. If im not mistaken a previous P2P forum I was on, seemed to have a Java client that you could use, and connect to an actual IRC channel. This seemed similar to what was used on a K-Lite version I downloaded, in which right inside the client you could connect to their help channel on IRC, without having to download anything.
But this is far from my specality, just something that I think could prorivde a medium for us to become an even closer knit community, and easier to recieve quick help on simple topics.
