    Talking hey memoryman?!

I did some initial testing at 220 w/ 2.8-2.9 volts for some new 512 Buffalo CH-5 schticks and 2-2-2 worked okay in memtest, didn't try windows. DID try 3.1 at 230 and was fine (go check saulous's memory timings in one of the threads about the 7 xtra timings at dfi-street, I tried them and THEY WORKED!!! (was surprised since they look so tight) They seem to work well up to about 235 (windows / 3d2k1) and then in memtest they fall apart after 245. Some of that maybe getting Chipset to play nice.

I am playing w/ those timings and have made it up to 248 @ 3.3vdimm in memtest. BGA HSFs MAKE a difference!, got 10 FSB more so far in memtest (stlll playing there) I'm guessing that the smaller traces may be more succeptable to heat effects. Using SVC's OCZ AL hsfs (OCZ is using chomerics t412 on the batch I got! )

    Re: CH-5 newegg update

AH, I see memoryman...you ran cpu at 200 and ram at 250 so not 1:1. I thought you meant you tested em 1:1 250fsb.

Is SYNC MODE setting better when left on AUTO or ENABLED? Mine is on Enabled right now.

I also may try the 4-29C18 bios and see what happens....then maybe the 5-05.

    Re: CH-5 newegg update

CH-5 is by far the best currently available memory(and even finding it is getting hard). Until we see some testing with the new Samsung 4ns memory that is coming out, the ch-5 is the best combination of price and performance. Plus the dbl sided 512 sticks seem to be a little better than the bh-5 512's were if you actually need the ram and use your sytem for apps instead of just racing.

    Re: CH-5 newegg update

Psychosis - yes - I just test the memory to the max - I don't pretend to know about processors in the same degree I know memory. I also don't have any good cooling for processors, should I start OCing them.
I keep my processors to a lower speed, so when I have errors, I know it's the memory for sure. I'm guessing that most people here want to know about memory facts from me, instead of processor facts.

    Re: CH-5 newegg update

There's still a lot of the 256s left at newegg. These are the ones that can take CPC on at higher speeds than the 512s.

    Re: CH-5 newegg update

Give the DRAM at least 3.2 or 3.3 and tighten the timings...you should be fine. That is what I am doing with the rig below. I get my input from memoryman as well, he is a wealth of knowledge.

    Just an update:
Single stick of 256MB of this CH-5 hits 240fsb with 3.3vdimm on my board with 11-2-3-2 CPC ON - straight out of packaging with no burn in and is stable for a few hours Prime. Impressive.

like pinstripe says - Vdimm has got to be 3.2 or 3.3V. 3.0 will not make the CH-5 turn on fully.
At 3.2-3.3, you are going to be able to run a lot faster memory bus.
