how do i get DC working

my friend has an a7n8x-x and 2x256 of pc3000. there are 2 dimm slots near eachother, and a third far away. when i first saw the comp, it was running in single chan, 1 stick was on far left, other on far right, leaving 1 in middle. so i tried to switch themnext to eachother, both of them are on the dimm slots that are closest to eachother and it still says single channel. doesnt really say much in the manual, and uhh im not sure why its not working, later ill try 1 stick in slot 2 and the other in 3.

i know theres many of u with DCand an a7n8x-x, so just tell me how u set up ur dual channel

The two slots closest to one another is one channel, the one by itself is the other channel. Put one stick in each channel, and it will be in dual channel if the board is capable.

Not all NF2 boards supports DC, if I remember correctly, the early Asus boards did not?

I'm pretty sure the A7N8X-X is a single channel nForce2. Yes, there are single channel ONLY nForce2 motherboards - nForce2 400

Your not losing to much performance by having a single channel memory controller. Heck even the 754's have a single channel on die memory controller.
