    Re: FF Member connection speeds.

Got new internet service with Time Warner. I'm paying for "Standard" which I thought was 10 Mbps but speed test reports 18-20 Mbps however Steam downloads seem to top out at 1.2 MB/sec.

My old internet was 6 Mbps down and Steam downloads maxed at about 0.65 MB/sec.

I don't know what the deal is with TWC. See my post above - 8 months ago I was getting 18 down. Today 25 down. Not bad for 10 Mbps service. I'm certainly not complaining

$162 for Cable (no extra pay channels), 1 HD-DVR, 10 Mbps internet, 2 phone lines (+$30 for 2nd phone), voicemail (+$5)

Of course that's some sort of package deal. I'm sure after a year they will try to jack up the price but we'll see. Most people wouldn't need the 2nd phone line so it should be about $132 without.

TWC upgraded me to "Turbo" internet free for 6 months. That's 20/2 Turbo vs 15/1 standard. Speedtest shows my download dropping from 25 to 21 but my Steam downloads are around 2.6 mbps now vs 1.9 before. Before my Speedtest results varied quite a bit between 15-25 but now it's quite consistent between 20-21.
