Today I bought a XP333R 2.1 board for 5 bucks.

The way the reverend Rgone and Loggan massage their Infinities... and its subsequent responses with fsbs >250, you would think they were starstruck teenagers !! lol !!!!

I have always considered you my friend as a conservative tweaker, aggressive enough and in the realm of reason. Often you would warn about pushing the envelope too far. Me, I am somewhat reckless somedays and conservative in other days.....therefore mood dependent. Overall and in the final analysis, I would go for rock stability at lower fsb and lower temps. The incursions into more speed until your dead comes once in a while and i am just plain lucky so far for not busting my boards.

a funny thing happened to me today , went out for lunch with a couple o m8's

passed a cash generator shop on the way and stopped dead in my trax's

in the winda's there's this Iwill xp333-r box with £15 slapped on it in bright

fluro yella wid da purple wriiting !!!! anyway u've all guessed I bought the sucker

soon as I found it was a rev 2.1 board and had the manual and all the bits with it !!!!

asked if they'd tak a tenner fer it and they said yes !!!! heheehehehehehe !!!!!

anyhow went on and got lunch and a couple of the plonkers were taking the piss outta

the poor ole Iwill and outta me as well !!!! ( never a guid idea !!!! taking the wee wee outta

a mans computer !!!! ) so there they are gobbing off and I'm like well m8's if yer

computers so good what r they and wots they got under their bonnets !!!!

One of had a Dull ( sorry Dell !!!! ) dimension with a celeron 2.6 ( I'm now choking on

my pint trying no to bust a gut laughing !!!! ) and then to cap it he tells me it's got

onboard graphics as weelllll !!!!! heehhhhhhhee eheeeeeee heehehee !!!!

Ohhhhhh dear !!!!! ( and he's been taking the pee outta my Iwill !!!! )

the other ass has got himself a perfecta p4 based system with a radeon 9600 in it

so I'm like yer don't say m8 !!!! do ye ken wot speed that p4 is he thinks it's a 2.8 but

ain't too sure , so I'm saying well fella's I bet this wee Iwill I've just got fer £10 will

totally stuff yer poxy pc's in fact I bet it'll stuff em so bad ya'll will wanna kerl up and

die outta shame fer taking the piss outta me an my £10 second hand mobo !!!!

Anyway we decide that were gonna benchtest the pc's with sandra and 3d2k1 an 2k3

this evening , so I gets home and chucks the Iwill into the old faithfull case , do the vcore

mod and the vdimm mod and fire the rest of my kit into the cooking pot as well and then

finish of by flashing to the 12/20 bios , then do a few benches at stock speeds tae see

where it's at !!!! ( this is with the hard still with my old xp333-r configuration on it !!!! )

now where was I oh yeah I woz waxing lyrical ( or some carp like dat !!!! )

anyhow we'd arranged to meet at one the guy's flats ( well his parents flat anyway !!!!

coz we despite having had a few pints o the good

stuff with lunch , we'd realized that we'd need somewhere with a modecum of space as

well as plenty of power points specially seing that a few hangers on had decided to come

and play as well !!!! ( the things folk will do for a free drink sheeeshhhhhh !!!! )



so instead of about 4 or 5 folks coming it kinda had about 10 or 11 bodies all o a sudden

coming ( oooppppsssss !!!!! ) and it turned out to be 7 pc's instead of 3 !!!!

So I'm begin to fink I've bitten offa more den aye can chew especially when one of

my ex works IT guys shows up with a ' cold case ' ie. his whole case is refrigerated !!!!

in fact his case is one o them wee glass fronted mini fridges/chillers fer sticking yer

cans/bottles o beer etc. in !!!! in which he's shoehorned a matx mobo etc. into !!!!

the only thing not inside is the power supply unit !!!!

It really looked the dogs bolluxs !!!!

but it was a case of all show and not that much go coz it only had a duron 1.2 in it

tho. it were running at 1805mhz !!!! ( no bad fer a duron !!!! ) it also had a 9800 radi

of some ilk inside as well but I'd swallowed several glasses of something or other

by the time I got tae speak tae him !!!! he'd also had more than a few as well !!!!

3. Unknown celeron 2.0 based , sapphire 9600

4. Soltek 75 frn2 xp 1800+ , connect3d 9600 gfx

5. unknown matx mobo duron 1.2 @ 1800mhz , powercolor 9800se gfx all in a very groovy

wee beer chiller of a case !!!! ( it even comes with 2 cans of stella inside chillin

just in case he feels the need ( I'm sure beerlovva will approve !!!! )

6. Albatron 18dpro II ( I think !!!! ) barton moblie 2500+ @ 2.4 @ 218mhz x 11 , ati 9700 pro

7. Spiidi's mark 2 Iwill XP333-r rev.2.1 barton 2500+ @ 2436mhz 203 x 12 , sapphire 9700 pro

Spiidi knows he is deep in the fecal matter now as it obvious from speak to Tony that

he knows his PC pretty well , but as he's never bench marked with sandra or 3dmark before

maybe for the Spiidi one all is not lost !!!! Yet !!!!

and then in a sorta offhand manner proceeded to do a few benchmarks

kickin off with a certain smug gits dimension

( Each PC had 2 or 3 run thru's the benchy's below r the 1st runs !!!! )

PC No. 1 Celeroon 2.6 onboard gfx ( win xphome )

3D2k1 = 7003 , 3D2k3 = 2850 ( not too bad fer a £550 system , not too good either tho.!!!! )

No sandra scores on this one Soz but fer some reason it would'nt read the cdr it were on !!!!

Next up was

PC no. 3 Unknown mobo with a celeron 2.0 and 9600 ( win 98)

3D2k1 = 7906 , 3D2k3 = 3601 , the 9600 were overclocked by 30mhz on the core and

37mhz on the memoriie !!!!

PC no. 6 was the next victim Ablatron , barton mobi @ 2400 , 9700pro ( win xp )

By the way u gotta remeber that whilst we are doings these benchmarks we r also

imbibing of alcholic beveridges of various sorts and eating carry oot chinese and indian !!!!

so if the results seem abit

disjointed , then thats coz they were !!!! the notes that whoevre wrote

smell nicely of rum and coke for 1 sheet of A4 and the other his a lovely shade of rose

pink from kevin's mums red wine , which seems to slowly be disolving the sandra scores

for some of the pc's ( this sheet also has a excellent scent of parse chicken massala

and mango chutney as well

to it which is doing it's best to make me hungry !!!! diet wot diet shshshhhh !!!! don't tell

the missus !!!! ) further it has a nice golden broon hue tae it on the r/h side where the

parse massala was !!!! Lovely !!!!
