Generally speaking, you can cut the "master" connector off of a cable, and it will continue to work properly, given that you jumper the drive on the "slave" connector as master. This does not always work.
no harm trying it, at worst you will jsut destroy an IDE cable
Works like a dream. I took my buck knife and WHACK I now do not have a mess going from my mother board to my RAID array.
