    AMD64 2800+ or AMD64 2800+ plz read

Ok you might be saying oh he typed the title wrong, well no, i was searching new egg because around christmas i am "hopefully" getting a new computer that i will build of course.

Now when I came to the AMD64 page it had this

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...roperty&DEPA=1

that should list the full inventory of AMD64's now if you look at the first two, there are two AMD64 2800+'s and only a dollar apart. My question is what is the difference, clearly by reading the specs there is a difference, it says

The difference barely caught my eye, but is there one? This may sound silly but will I get a preformance difference, I know that at such a high level the processor wont barely be able to tell a difference, and certainly not at the human perspective level, of real world use.

But would there be one? the second processor lists no Core specifaction, but the "cheaper" (one dollar? please lol) Processor shows what the Core is, a Newcastle.

Please help if you can, no rush.

the only difference is the revision; AP or AX

AX will probably overclock and perform better since it is the latest revision

    I recommend getting Model#: ADA2800AEP4AX

Exactly right. Also, you can undervolt the AX at stock speeds which will allow slowing the cpu fan if a quieter computer is among your requirements.

The AP revision is a neutered clawhammer with 512 kb cache disabled. The AX is the newcastle core. I've gotten my AP running at 2.3 ghz prime 95 stable and 2.35 ghz not prime 95 stable. This of course, was just playing around. I need to tweak it a bit and perhaps I could get it to 2.4 ghz prime 95 stable.

Ok now that clears alot up, but the question is which is the AP one and which is the AX, to make it simple just say

    1. AP

    2. AX

    or

    1. AX

    2. AP

    and after that thanks alot.

The one that has AP at the end of the model # is the AP. Ditto for the AX.
