I see many that debate here really cannot effect this election becuase they can't vote, however, big kudos to them, as they do learn things here, and surely are sharpening their debating skills, as well as learning how to articulate themselves, definately good for them when they begin their adult lives.

It's better (IMHO) to vote for someone with 0 chance of winning than it is to not vote at all. It is not only a Right, it is a Responsibility.

As we get closer to the election, it seems more and more likely that I will be casting a write in ballot.

Don't we have to do court duty if we register to vote?

Jury duty? You have to do that anyways. Don't forget at 18 you have to register for selective service as well...

OK Vih, so you used the "slippery slope", but I think it may be warranted in this case. Even though those things haven't happened, the questions are still valid!

P.S. I don't mind you posting a comment, as long as you don't wear the member hat and the mod hat at the same time (which I have yet to see happen).

    Republicans Get NYC Party-Planning Lessons
NEW YORK — Radical protesters are reportedly trying to cause chaos at the Republican National Convention in New York City at the end of August.

Reports show that fringe groups are hatching a plot on the Internet, telling people how to attack and trick police with the ultimate goal of evacuating Madison Square Garden.
The suggestions include everything from throwing marbles in the path of police-mounted horses to going to shooting ranges before heading to the convention so that their clothes will reek of gunpowder and trick bomb-sniffing dogs on the subways and commuter trains.

^^^Yup. Thats what I overheard yesterday on the tube. My mistake....it wasnt about terrorists after all. It was about class A citizens who wish to make a political statement.[rolleyes]

How much do you want to bet that if these a-holes actually try this crap, the ones that are arrested will be somehow portrayed as "victims"?

Not everyone gets called to jury duty, they don't need that many jurors.

I don't consider it my duty to vote. I don't consider it my duty to do anything except follow the rules I have explicitly agreed to.
