I think the whole Iraq thing would have played out ALOT differently --for the better or worse I dont know. Lets remember that Gore's V.P. would have been Lieberman and Lieberman is Jewish.

Would have made for some interesting and intense negotations over the whole Iraq thing considering they all are pretty much Muslim and muslims dont like jewish people ---- then pile on the fact they the mid east doesnt like the US as it is ----- and this thing probably would have turned into another Vietnam War.. CM, just for funnies, what is the Canadian taxation system? I have never heard. Have a friend from England some time back. He said their rates were extremely high, but they did not fill out returns. Whatever was withheld was what you owed. Any time you had a change in dependants, you told your employer and your withholding was adjusted.

In the UK you can opt to do what's called Pay As You Earn (PAYE). With this, income tax & national insurance are deducted at source and apear on your pay slip each month. That's the easy way to do it, but only really practical if you have a regular income from a single employer. Otherwise you can opt to fill in your own tax returns. which is a total bitch like anywhere else in the world.

We would have several terrorists attacks followed by record US debt without lowering taxes to help fund a UN war against the founded Al Qaida element in the Mid East since we put all money into defense of our borders instead of going after them. After months of not addressing the problem, AL Qaida has spread throughout every middle east country gaining in rallying popularity and out of fear, just as OBL wanted it to do. Oh yeah we shot a few cruise missles and tomahawks, maybe even a few light nukes. As for Iraq war we are in it still alongside UN forces. Outcome would parralel the events of last few years, but of course Gore would still be overweight and have his winning good wooden personality.

I guess that's a good idea.. increase the taxes.. everyone moves to canada, and learns to say eh? after every sentence then the taxes can go back down.

What we really need is to get cities out of dept (especially here in pittsbugh) and then bring the economy back up.

Vic: where are u at? I'm in Pgh, too. BTW, same thing goes for Pgh. Decrease spending and taxes. Everyone is moving to Cranberry and other places outside of the city/county to avoid the taxes. Lowering taxes will keep the money earners local. IMHO

For starters, no one would make fun of him for not being able to form sentences, they'd be making fun of him for talking to much.

I would definitely doubt Gore would have backed out of going to Afghanistan. I mean, you can't compared the other terrorist attacks to 9/11. They smashed 2 huge buildings, killing 1000's, and they attacked the Pentagon. It was war. World War I began because of a far less bloody event. However, I think he would have been far more inclined to finish the job in Afghanistan, and actually (gasp!) concentrate on Al-Queda and Osama bin •••••••, instead of invading Iraq. It just wasn't smart. Saddam presented no immeadiate danger to the U.S., nor enough to his people that they were begging for help from the U.S. If he did eventually go into Iraq, he would likely have been far more successful in getting other nations involved. Also, all history textbooks around the world would credit him as inventing the internet (sorry...but it had to be said )

The difference is atrition and rallying before a battle is even waged. And as for who is in power makes a heck of a big difference, but what they would have had in front of them 9 months after being in office would not have changed a bit. Most wars in history are not short and decisive as alot would have think, seems the 'in thing' to rally against it.
