I have a general interest question about this thread:
If a user gets a name change done, and he tries to log in, but doesn't realize that his name has been changed, is he out of luck?

If a user gets a name change done, and he tries to log in, but doesn't realize that his name has been changed, is he out of luck?

only if the person forgets the name he/she requested. even then tho...i would say no...not out of luck. this forum is perfectly visible to guests so if they attempt to log in with their old name (not realizing the name change has gone into affect), then they can always come back to this thread to get the name they requested.

if they remember the new name they requested...but find that they cannot log in with their old name (again not realizing the name change has happened) then they simply try to log in with the new name.

if that fails...then they need to be sure they are spelling the new name correctly. names are (of course) case sensative and can include many different characters. this thread serves as a reference to the member where they can come back here, find the post they made requesting the change...and make sure they are typing in the new name correctly.

this is the main reason why i request all name changes come thru this thread. it ensures a log of requested changes so members can always refer back here if they forget or cant log in.

Not true.. names are not case sensative. sometimes I'm lazy and will not use the shift key when I log on. So "bulldog" works just as well as "BullDog".

yay didnt realize there was an "official name change thread" lol i beleive i may have started a trend way back when i asked if it were possible =p

anyhow that thread still exists i just bumped it today if reasoning is neccessary..
