They're so engulfed in their political party that they just can't think for themselves. Republicans will base all of their views on crap like Fox News, as the Democrats will worship CNN. And won't stop to consider an altrernative view becuase it's not of their party.
I try to have a neutral view on most subjects, but this election makes it very difficult, Kerry is a hard-core liberal, as Bush is a VERY HARDCORE conservative.
And IMO they're just as bad as the other.
We have senators that will vote with their party regardless of the law the opposing party is trying to pass.
I understand the need for diversity in the government for diversity is needed because the citizens are diverse, but it seems that there is more arguing of conflicting opinions getting done that anything else.
i agree we should try reading from this site from time to time english.aljazeera.net

Well, that depends. Back in the Mordethian era, there was a great thread showing how ones political affiliation is really a matter of his social and economic views. So, it IS possible to have "combinations": In others words:

You could have conservative social and economic values = right wing conservative

You could have conservative social and liberal economic values = communism

You could have liberal social and conservative economic values = centrist or soft conservative

You could have liberal social and economic values = socialist or soft liberal

So, for someone who is a right wing conservative, voting for a party that has socialist tendencies is NOT likely going to happen, regardless of how good the socialist leader is and how bad the conservative leader is. In a sense, to that individual, "liberal = bad". And vice versa.

What determines elections, of course, is the relatively large number of centrists, who must all be bisexual, since........... they swing either way..............................oh, man, sorry, it is early, and I haven't had a lot of sleep............

Hmm, seems like there's an invitation somewhere in that last comment, imho. Better get some sleep. Alone.

And you know better than to give openings like that. Around here at least

Trust me, no invitation offered! As I said, I couldn't resist!
