    Asus A8V 2.0 & 1.2 official news>

1.2 will never have a release bios enabling locks. They say that over several days the use of the beta bioses that enable locks will eventually cause quality control problems.

2.0 - all new shipments to distributers and resellers from asus from today onward will be 2.0 boards. There will be different distributer SKU #'s but same basic model #. The new box has a whitish background instead of green. the new boards will not come with Wi-Fi cards. The same bios will be used for both 1.2 and 2.0, but only 2.0 will see the pcb revision and enable the locks options.

here is the link showing the new sku #'s

    http://usa.asus.com/wheretobuy/SKUs/...board_SKUs.pdf

it's the one not marked deluxe/Wi-Fi.

Boards should be available Monday. Be very careful as to which version the reseller is still stocking. I'm sure there are still many 1.2's in the reseller channel still, but they are discontinued.

    that's about it folks.

worth a try, but make sure they are in before so you don't just get a 1.2.

FYI, monarch's listing the A8V's they have are (v. 2.0) on their site. I've been searching & this is the 1st instance I've seen where the vendor explicitly states what revision their stock. They're a little expensive but something to think about if you want to guarantee you get a rev 2.0.
Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe Motherboard, A64-X2-4400+ Processor, 2 x 1024MB OCZ 'EL' Ram, ATI X1900 XTX Video Card, Creative X-FI XtremeMusic Sound Card, 2 x 160Mbyte Seagate SATA Drives Raid0, 100GB 7200RPM W.D. Drive, Lite-On 52x24x52 Burn Proof CDRW, NEC ND-3500AG DVD-RW Drive, Generic Floppy, Generic 'CompUSA Case, OCZ 520W Supply, Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1, Dell 2405 LCD Widescreen Monitor. How do I do it ? I'm in debt up to my eyeballs. Somebody help me

I can say that I checked newegg today and they have two different A8V's for sale now. One with wifi and one without. According to grdh20, the one without is rev 2.0. Also, it is cheaper for the one without, FYI.

Yea, also zipzoom has one with & one without. I was under the impression that Asus had ones without wifi that were the older (1.02 ?) versions that were discontinued. If I'm wrong I guess I just spent about $25 extra for nothing ...

Hey grdh20 thanks for the sku's I was in the process of hunting for them as I came accross this forum.

For those interested I just emailed newegg to see if they do hev the rev2.0 in stock. I will post when (if) I get a reply.

I am looking foward to getting my hands on this board, it seems to be the one to get for my soon to be new 3500+

FYI: If getting it with the 3500+ then mondachs combo deal is a about $70 cheaper, 3500+ for $355 vs $459 at new egg.
