    Question PCI-Express question and PSU

    Hi,

Dont know if im in the right place or not but I see that all intel pci express motherboards such as the ASUS P5GD1 have a 24pin ATX connector + 4pin P4 instead of the standad 20pin ATX connnector. Do you absolutely need a 24pin atx power supply? or will a regular ATX (20pin) work at all so long as it has the standard 4pin P4 connector?

    Cheers!

No it isn't mandatory....however there have been instabilty issues with the standard 20 pin.
