It is fun. I bought a bunch on Audiogon a year ago or so, just dug out Rolling Stones "Their Satanic Majesties Request". Cover is near mint, record is dirty but playable. I havent heard much about this LP before. Hidden Treasures!![]()
Do most of the people who visit this forum even know what a turntable or album is?Originally Posted by John C
I still have vinvyl 78's, 33's and 45's. But then again I also have a HUGE 8.5" IBM floppy drive....which many people didn't even know they made....an ancient ancestor to the 5.25" floppy, lol.
The last vinyl I listed to .... and am currently trying to port to a CD, is a song called "Morris the Moose". It is on a Christmas album of kids/fun songs....."I'm morris the moose, morris the moose that's me....", lol.
But since you won't get too many vinyl answers....
on my iRivier I've got:
Faith Hill - Fireflies
Dokken - Hell to Pay
Motley Crue - Generation Swine
Motley Crue - Too Fast For Love
Sara Evans - Real Fine Place
Y&T - Ten
In my vehicle, I've got:
Scorpians - (one of their OLD greatest hits with Robot Man, etc...)
Scorpians - Blackout
Faith Hill - Fireflies
Kids Songs....(argh)
and 2 others I have no clue which.
Current in my home stereo I've got:
3 CD's of Christmas music....tells ya how much I listen to my stereo...they were put in 3 years ago and never taken out, lol.
There are a few of us that love the warmth and richness of vinyl here! As for not getting too many vinyl answers, anyone is free to make a "whats on your ipod tonite" thread...Originally Posted by TheDrake

I'm probably one of the few of my generation (I'm 22) who have used a turntable before. I'd probably own one if I had a stereo at my house now, but my stereo is at my parents house so it doesn't get much use. But when I go back to their place I still use their turntable.
Anway, what I've got rockin out tonight.. One word (well one number), 311
Hard to believe its been 2 years!

Howdy guys.
My analog days are over. I have finally finish my digital HT/2 channel system, I didnt think it was possible, but Appogee clocking was the final straw.
Therefore, up for grabs is my Thorens TD 318MkII (Hi Gloss black), Adante Gold- 30 hrs, Grado Black- 3 hrs, and Shure Ultra 400s which needs a new stylus ( I lost it can you believe that?) Table has a new belt also, and weighs more then most mid-fi power amps (about 45lbs), and laughs at resonance from things like pipe organs and Metallica when correctly set up.
Condition is: You can not list on either ebay or Agon- you must use this table.
I want this to go to someone who will care for it as I did. I have lots of vinyl too.
Trades are possible, all be it I really require nothing at this time, perhaps a better sound card or pc/monitor.
Pics by request.
Let me know,
Alpha
