Lightbulb All screensavers wont activate at all ?

I just bought a new Hard Drive, and finished up on this XP2700+ setup. Everything is perfect, but the screensaver never turns on? ive set for one minute, 2 minutes, changed screensavers etc,,, and it doesn't come on......

NOTE: When i preview the screensaver it works just fine.

Sometimes when i boot up the system, it will come on as it should after a minute or two, but when i move the mouse to turn it off, it will never come back on. Any suggestions as i'd had to have to reinstall XP again.

    Thx.

Start regedit, go to the following

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/control panel/desktop

Now you should see a perameter named ScreenSaverActive, make sure that is set to 1

Also, make sure your C:\Windows\system.ini file isnt marked as read only.

Thanks for the tip. I tried it but unfortunatley those settings are correct. I am stumped as i did the following.

    1. Did a Repair on Windows XP = Still wont activate the Screensaver
    2. Deleted the Fat32 Partition, then setup an NTFS partition, reformatted.
    3. I still am unable to get the Screensaver to pop up after a minute or two.

My only guess is it's hardware, so I will unplug each device 1 at a time and see if i can narror it down. Thx.
