    SLuggish performance????

Alrighty, Today i went out and bought an A64 combo. So now my system specs:

    AMD Athlon64 3000+ stock
    MSI K8t Neo FSR
    2x512mb Kingston HyperX PC4000
    120gb WD 7.2k RPM HDD
    80gb WD 7.2k RPM HDD
    PNY 6800 GT stock
TTGI (superflower) 450watt quad fan PSU
    Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

    Ok these are my concerns:

When i boot up, the windows load screen takes almost 3-4 minutes to load instead of the 1 minute or less it took before on my 1700+ @ 2.2

Also, When i game, i get some errors alot, when i play cs, it freezes when i reload my gun.

When i open Mozilla, it takes like 40 seconds to open up when it usually only took less than 7 or so.

    Whats going on here?

Video drivers: 65.73's I used to use 61.80's

Im going to update mobo drivers now.

Sounds like you didn't reinstall Windows and your system is strugling to cope with hardware discrepancies it is encountering in the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) from your old setup...

Make sure you have all the latest drivers for your IDE, chipset, video, sound etc... If your running XP, don't upgrade to SP2 yet, as there are issues with A64 CPUs and SP2. Defragin is something that I would recommend after a clean install (and after you reload all of you backed up files).

Might want to check your BIOS, make sure everything looks good. You could try setting your BIOS back to defaults and then tweaking it back to how you like it to make sure everything passes the test. Also check the device manager, see if there is anything acting up.

Let me know if this helps any...

Sounds like a Hard Drive issue. Run a diagonostic scan on your hard drive(s), see if anything is up. Are your HD's isolated on thier own channel??
